Yesterday I had a shooting with a 20-year old boy for an ad for our newspaper. It's funny, how many tasks I do at this newspaper, although I'm not a professional in any of these fields. Since our last layouter and designer (a real one) went away, I'm doing all designing tasks, including the layout of the magazine. I've done four issues so far, people haven't really seen a difference. Does that mean I'm good, or that our last designer was really bad? I don't know ...And Yesterday I was photographing this boy (did I tell you that I own a complete photo studio, with many studio flashes, backgrounds, softboxes, umbrellas and whathaveyou). The only thing I'm missing is experience. But that will (hopefully) come.
After I went home I craeted six or seven ads with this boy. After discussing all drafts with my staff this is the one that goes into print in the pride week schedule. And yes, it's quite dark, I've noticed. ;)

Have confidence. You're good.
And although the ad is mostly black-and-white, it is very professional looking and pops.
