A Blast From The Past X: The New Yorkers
Sequel to: Triumvirate
Actually I met Andrée and Rob at their wedding. They've invited Steffen, who brought his twin brother Sven, who was my boyfriend at that time, hence Sven brought me. I was nervous because I didn't know Andrée and Rob. They've invited me to their wedding, which more or less is a thing just for friends and family.
But they were very cordial, nice and it felt like I had known them for years. Frankly, it was the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to. And all their friends and families were so nice. We had an awesome time at their wedding in Montebello in Canada. After the wedding we drove to NYC together with them and stayed for two weeks.
All together was such a great experience. It was my first time in New York City. And I instantly fell in love with that town. I didn't feel like a stranger in a unknown city, I felt like finally coming home. And I loved hangig out with Andrée and Rob. They're both great companions.
Today I think they knew from the start that we were a gay couple, although we didn't tell them in the beginning. And we were nervous about what they might think when they figure it out. After some visits we finally spoke about us being gay and it was no problem at all--like expected. In fact, they're now the ones of my friends I trust the most. We're also in touch with their families and friends and it's always nice to meet them, too.
Our visits became like a tradition, and meeting them is always a big pleasure. Two years ago they got a very beautiful daughter and I enjoy seeing her as well. I know that I won't have kids on my own. And I'm not even sure if I were a good dad. But it makes me happy seeing her grow up, and I have a chance to do all the things like peek-a-boo or hide-and-seek--at least once a year.
During my visits I met some other great guys in NYC, and at least one of them and his two best friends will get a seperate post.
I want to move to New York in the near future. One of the things I like best about New York City: Andrée, Rob, the Baby and some other friends live there.
To be continued ...
