A Blast From The Past III: Aliens
Sequel to: Wajuk
Since I was one of the youngest members of our group called Wajuk, I was also one of the last who left the village for college. The group had already shrunk severely when three alien guys showed up at our youth meeting. They've just moved to our little village and they didn't even speak much German. I hung out with them quite much.
Especially with one. It was 1993 and there was no hype on dinosaurs at all. It was before Jurassic Parc was shown, but he had a consolidated knowledge of dinosaurs and other ancient creatures. He prepared full-scale modells of dinosaurs, ancient monkey-like people and much more. He was a perfectionist and the modells looked like real creatures, although it was just a hobby and he used everyday objects like newspapers, flour, colors. He had even cut his little brother's hair and used it for the monkeys' fur. He put some exhibitions and became quite famous. Then the dinosaur hype kicked in which helped him and his exhibitions as well.
We talked a lot, I taught him German, he tried to teach me his language (which wasn't English), we had a lot of fun, I liked him very much. Then, after just one summer, he and his parents moved away again ...
