100 Facts

  1. I grew up in a very, very small village in the south west of Germany.
  2. I'm Swabian, I have a Swabian accent (Swabia is the area in Germany where I live).
  3. My real name is Dennis.
  4. I left my Dad's home when I was 23, and I moved to Stuttgart.
  5. During high school I worked as Tupperware Consultant.
  6. I've never smoked. Not even once.
  7. I'm out to everybody.
  8. I love nearly everything that tastes like Caramell.
  9. My parents got divorced when I was 22 years old.
  10. My first car was older than me.
  11. I'm allergic to atropine.
  12. My family does a lot of sports, and they've all coached different teams.
  13. I hate doing sports.
  14. The first time I went to New York, I instinctively knew I was "home".
  15. I don't like my body.
  16. I've never been standing up for the German Anthem. I was standing up to the American Anthem though. Because everyone else in the movie theater did.
  17. I'm all thumbs.
  18. I drink very little alcohol. I've never had a hangover or passed out.
  19. I took horse-riding lessons for a few years when I was in elementary school.
  20. In junior high my teachers took me to their homes to fix their computers.
  21. I watched a aircraft crashing to the ground and exploding close to me when I was 13.
  22. A pilot sacrificed his life to save mine.
  23. I got beaten up by a large gang of older boys when I was in 7th grade.
  24. I've never french-kissed a woman.
  25. In 1997 I wrote a script for a stage play. It was played several times.
  26. I've never played with toy cars.
  27. I've never played with Barby Dolls either.
  28. I took some classes in sign language.
  29. Before college, I worked in a marketing company with about 400 employees.
  30. After two months they've promoted me to be the head of a department--although I was the youngest guy there. "Let's make a man out of this boy", my boss said.
  31. I've learned that beeing responsible for dozens of people is not easy. And former friends do mean things when they're green of envy.
  32. There was a time where I was working for 16 hours each day.
  33. I didn't like my name when I was younger.
  34. When I saw a live drag show for the first time in my life, I didn't like it. I was even doubting that I'm really gay.
  35. I've prepared SpƤtzle (famous Swabian noodles) only twice--for friends in New York.
  36. I've been to these European countries: Switzerland (very often), Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, U.K. and Hungary.
  37. I was an intern at HP. Although I worked very much, it was the best time of my life.
  38. I would even pay to work for HP after school ... uhm ... well, I have to pay bills ... I guess that won't work. But you know what I mean ...
  39. Once a priest made me sign a vow in school that I won't have sex with a woman until we're married.
  40. I don't think I'll ever break that vow.
  41. I love to write programs in Perl. Some people say Perl is my native language.
  42. Once, I was able to spin a small wheel by telekinesis. I read a book about that. Our marketing company got paid to promote that book. I tried it right away. It scared me that it actually did work.
  43. Once in college, I had to calculate something, together with a friend. A part of the calculation was 3x6. I got three different results: 12, 24, 16. Well, I was distracted by higher requirements.
  44. One of my friends likes to tell a story about me not being able to calculate 3x6 to my profs.
  45. I think living fungi in the forest are disgusting. I'm not talking about their taste. It's their existence that scares me.
  46. I'm president of a students club.
  47. I love each kind of cheese.
  48. My biggest dream is to move to New York City.
  49. I've never been sexually attracted by a woman in any way.
  50. My parents aren't religious. They didn't raise me in bigotry. Thanks, by the way. Actually I think they did a very good job. Most notably my Mom is the best Mom ever.
  51. I'd love to learn better English and speak without German accent.
  52. I don't like computer games.
  53. Five girls told me "I love you!". No guy ever did.
  54. I think a list with 100 items is pretty long.
  55. I have no clue about cars.
  56. I have to fix the computers of all my relatives.
  57. I prefer vanilla to chocolate.
  58. I'm right handed.
  59. I can't really seperate love and sex.
  60. I'm getting along with my parents very well.
  61. My favorite burger is a regular Whopper with cheese and bacon.
  62. I never had braces.
  63. I sang medieval chants in a quartet. We performed in Germany, France and Italy.
  64. I love fondly hugs.
  65. I wore eyeglasses from kindergarten to junior high.
  66. I get many new gay porn DVDs by mail--the studios want me to write reviews for our magazine. I've never requested that, and I haven't even watched one of them. They're all still sealed or I give them to friends.
  67. About ten years ago I wrote many short stories and even did two readings where the audience paid to hear me--I didn't get a single dime of the gains.
  68. I'm too shy to dance in a club.
  69. I think my principal in junior high had a lung, but also gills. And I'm still thinking that.
  70. When I was 13 I tried to dancy like Michael Jackson.
  71. My (female) music teacher in high school bared her breasts while we had a private talk about music.
  72. I spend too much time reading blogs.
  73. Eye contact is more important to me than sexual contact. (I've borrowed this one from The Love Lemming, because it's very true for me, too)
  74. My favourite cake is raspberry cake, or strawberry cake. I can't really decide.
  75. I love doing magic. I like the professional tricks that require slight of hand and weeks of practice.
  76. I'm always carrying a deck of cards, a rope and some rubber bands in my pocket.
  77. I own about 50 different decks of regular poker cards.
  78. I prefer the red bycicle rider back decks for magic.
  79. I was literally rolling on the floor laughing for many minutes together with my friends Anja and Susanne. We were sober.
  80. I had a race together with Susanne and Anja on a small balcony once. Ok, we weren't sober this time.
  81. I figured out that I am gay when I was 18. I think I already knew it when I was 13, but I tried to ignore it.
  82. If I could choose to become straight, I wouldn't.
  83. My favourite alcoholic drinks are Martini, Margaritas and Tequila.
  84. My favourite non-alcoholic drink is Volvic Fruit (water with a light taste of fruit).
  85. I've never been to a nude beach.
  86. I'm the godfather of one of my nephews.
  87. I'm very loyal to my friends.
  88. After high school I've directed some low budget movies.
  89. I believe that Julia and I "share" a brain. I have all the skills she lacks, and vice versa. Additionally, we often know what the other one is thinking. I refer to her as the second half of my brain.
  90. Sometimes Quit often I'm confusing left and right when I give driving instructions.
  91. I worked as teacher and taught wordprocessing (not typewriting) to classes of adults doing a vocational retraining.
  92. I explored some old iron ore mines.
  93. I love amusement parks. Especially roller coaster.
  94. I can't read notes (the music thingy). At least I'm very slow.
  95. I played the guitar quite well, but only chords.
  96. I watch less than 2 hours TV in a week.
  97. I didn't dare to study computer science right after high school because I was afraid of all the maths.
  98. I think I'm rather boring and not cool.
  99. I'm wondering if anybody really reads all 100 points.
  100. Julia said I'm gonna be her maid of honor when she gets married.

Awesome and interesting! Been to some of the same countries myself. Lets see... Italy, Spain, France, Greece, Malta, Croatia to name a few!

Wow, you've been to many places here in Europe. After reading your latest entry about all the hate of this "Christians", Europe actually feels like a different world.

Hi Larry, that's ok, some friends from school call me Rian as well.
It's funny, I read your list when I already had about 70 things. I found many things on your list that are also true for me. But some are also quite different. However, it was a pleasure to read your list as well.

Yes, I read all 100 points. I'm not sure if I could think of 100 points of interest about myself. I guess I'll have to try. Anyway, yes, it was interesting reading about you. But I have to say, I don't see a big difference between chat room chatting and blogging. I think there still exists as much chance of being dishonest, for whatever reason, and taking advantage of someone.
